Colorful vignettes painted softly with inspiration in hope of recovery blending light humor into adult life confounded by misdiagnosed ADD leading to child abuse drenched under cloudbursts of PTSD.

Complex PTSD is psychological injury resulting from continual abuse. There’s no escape because the abuser is often a parent.
Abusers may have Sadistic Personality Disorder. The hallmark of SPD is that the person enjoys inflicting cruelty upon others.

16.} Might Be Funny If It Wasn't True

Many have harbored a worldview that they are
different from everyone else, but never dared tell anyone!
Their day-to-day squirm through life’s disorganized chaos in heedless
absorption leaves them questioning the curse of their troublesome lives
as others appear to live effortlessly, and even take theirs for granted!
Attention Deficit Disorder, Inattentive in type, unnoticed
commonly prevails unperceived beyond childhood.

But upon growing up,
this star-crossed
contradistinction soon leaves
adults in muddled puzzlement!
Will they forever be chronically late,
always rushed and in a hurry, frequently
overwhelmed by normal daily tasks, or unable to
stay at a job long enough to find and keep a friend?
Why can't they remember where they put their wallets,
cigarettes, or that goddamned bill that was due yesterday?
How can blurted thoughts from nowhere cause high anxiety?
When did they get so broke they can't even pay attention?
They seem not to be listening when spoken to directly.
ADD is one of 3 subtypes of ADHD in that it is
characterized primarily by inattention,
distractibility, disorganization,
procrastination, and
forgetfulness.
Often they
have difficulty
at concentrating
on conversations,
missed appointments
or obligations, become
distracted by activity or noise,
or simply getting lost in daydreams...
Teachers and parents make false assumptions
about behaviors and attitudes of children with ADD,
providing them with frequent and erroneous negative
feedback: "You're a lazy, fat glom who won't even
try because only a dim-witted moron keeps so
busy daydreaming to ever pay attention!"
As they progress into adulthood,
undiagnosed and untreated, their
inattentiveness, ongoing frustration and
poor self-image frequently create myriad
severe problems in maintaining relationships,
succeeding in graduate school or
in the workplace.
These problems
can compound
frustrations
with low
self-esteem,
and often lead to
the development of
correlative pathologies
like anxiety disorders,
sexual promiscuity,
mood disorders,
and substance
abuse.
Now
consider
the foundation
for such an adulthood,
constructed during childhood
under the evil eye of her Narcissism...
Characteristic traits of emotionally abusive mothers:

Verbal aggressiveness such as saying things
that scare or intimidate someone else.
A domineering presence that prevents
someone from having contact with
their family… and just because.
Emotional abuse is the
systematic diminishment of another.
The impact of emotional abuse does not
differ significantly from that of physical abuse.
It may be intentional or subconscious or both, but
it is always an ongoing occurrence, not a single event.
Abusive tactics are extreme and inconsistent insults, taunting
those who were lied to that previous incidents never occurred.
Abusers can be very manipulative, often recruiting friends, neighbors,
even a victim's family to their side, while shifting blame at the victim.
When family life consists of interpersonal violence many disorders develop
like chronic depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, dissociation.
Emotional abuse is power and control defined by rejecting, degrading,
terrorizing, isolating, corrupting or exploiting and
denying emotional responsiveness.
Dominant behaviors can be;
ignoring harsh criticism,
coarse, loud yelling,
rudeness or
invalidating a
child's feelings;
all the way up to
deciding what the
victim’s role in life will be.
verbal aggression is name-calling,
ridicule, degradation, routine labeling,
public humiliation and excessive criticism,
inappropriate, overly excessive demands;
even the withholding of information!
Emotional abuse is characterized
by a pattern of behavior
occurring over time,
thus, sustained and
repetitive are crucial
components comprised
of emotional abuse defined.
Emotional Abusers cause fear and
intimidation by menacing children with
beatings, harm to pets, destruction of
property, isolation from family,
friends, school or work.
Abuse negates a child's
security and self-esteem,
and can bring risky behaviors,
withdrawal, difficulty making friends,
unstable job histories, substance abuse,
setting fires, animal cruelty,
and sometimes,
suicide.
